I just upgraded my Dell Precision T3610 to Windows 11. It does not meet the TPM 2.0 requirement, has TPM 1.2 and it's Xeon processor is not on the supported list but it installed without a hitch! I was surprised! The system runs about the same as it did on Windows 10, performance is excellent. I noticed it preserved nearly all of my tweaks and settings too!

Meh... MS can wait sat down, my 7th gen A12 APU works like a charm, and I'm not upgrading soon.
Your little cash grab won't work on me MS...
You have chosen the worst times to try forcing people to dump their hardware in favor of new stuff...

    Hi,
MS is still on mobile mode and everyone recycles cell phones every 2-3 years where as desktops depends on how good they are
I still have one from 2009 and a laptop same age both have win-10 on them although I prefer win-7
    5 year old desktop
    3 year old desktop
1 year old desktop only this one is on cpu compatibility list I fail because of no uefi/ gpt/ secure boot and not going to change any of them just for win-11 so they can use bitlocker lol

Sorry, but not everyone upgrades their cell phone every three years. My phone is 5 years old and will be six next year.

I can still remember when Verizon charged a one-time $30 upgrade fee -- and that was to pay for the time for the Tech, in the Lab at the back of the store, to take your old and new phones and transfer the stuff over.

Now, it's more like $30 a month -- and that is for two or three YEARS, not a one-time fee. And that does not even get you into the nearly-$2000 dual-screen phones.

So, just like I'm not paying four figures to upgrade my desktop, I'm not paying that money to upgrade my phone, either.

My flip phone is only about 18 months old, had to replace the 10+ old one due to broken hinge. If Win11 keeps going as it is will need to replace a couple of Desktops and a couple of Notebooks, 2 more of each kind will get an LTS version of Linux.

I replaced my Nexus 4 a couple years ago with the cheapest recognized phone I could find, an Asus Max 4 . The only reason I needed a new phone was the USB plug quit working and I never got around to changing the battery (Amazon), but other than that it still worked fine running LineageOS. My Nexus 7 is still working just fine, even though it's battery is a little flakey and it's running the last version of CyanogenMod.

Don't get me started on computers, I still have a Conner 1GB HD I paid $475 for, a few boxes of junk parts and several old computer wrecks. And as far as win 11 goes, I won't be first in line for a new box just to run it. Win 10 will have to do, unless MS calves and drops the requirements , but I won't hold my breath...

I think he means that's the model they wanna force people into. Not that people actually changes their phones in that frequency.
I'm on the same boat, I still have my faithful Lenovo K6 from 2016, and works flawlessly despite the efforts of Google to force me dump my phone away (They are trying to enforce security over Android 9 and 10, whereas older versions will be dropped due to a certificate issue)

Again, this are terrible times to try force people into dumping their current setup in favor of new stuff (or to at least force them to buy extra silicon modules... as if we aren't in a silicon shortage lately... amazing...). Like, seems a pandemic didn't affect their silly thinking, nor they lost jobs or family members and had to cover teh expenses that causes (aside from having the terrible luck of losing somebody)

    This greed should stop...

I think these complains are nonsense. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything.
As for Android phones, people who use a phone for 5+ years probably use it just for voice calls. Just compare the pictures and videos you get from the recent mid-range phones, compared with what you got from the best five year-old phones. And old phones can´t run the latest versions of some of the most used apps.

FX8350=2012 for the first ones and they went on until at least 2014. Mine was from 2014, a late batch.
