    What are your reasons?

    I'm using it as my main Windows. Now on 22000.100 after two updates and all my quite old applications work fine. No crashes.

    I have only just realized (after reading https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/0...are-not-happy/) that corners are now rounded. I thought that they were patented by Apple!

    Neither that nor any really worthwhile changes otherwise that I'm seeing. 11 is basically 10 with more stringent hardware requirements and lipstick.
    If that's all it is, I'll stay as long as I can with Win10. I run Win10 with lipstick removed (all unnecessary features turned off). Doing so makes my laptop run much cooler.

    If you haven't been directed to yet, make sure you visit Windows 11 Forum. More abundant hoop-lah and Wow factor and "what ifs". It's new, a baby. May not look at all like it's currently presented. Lots to read everywhere. Enjoy!

    In case anyone else (like me) wasn't sure how to check for the presence of a TPM - here is the tutorial on how to check for it.

    Thank-you. I guess my 2010 HP Pavilion Desktop will have to continue running Windows-10.

    In 2010, the required "Trusted Platform Module" had not been invented yet.

    Hi there

    @AllenChicago

    @Roderunner

    If you run Virtual machines you can use a TPM emulator and even run UEFI and secure boot Virtual machines on MBR only devices. The only proviso of course is that the cpu must be capable of 64 bit operation and have VT virtualisation (or equivalent in AMD processors). I think VMWare allows TPM emulation - on any Linux host it's a doddle.

    TPM emulator service running (emulator provided by IBM --free installable on linux distros - use your package manager) .

    On Windows there's one I think provided by Microsoft.

    Those who want to run W11 on "Insufficient hardware" as a VM say on Windows 10 - HYPER-V also has provision for "Emulated" TPM in the VM config. Not sure how to do that myself but I'm sure @Kari who is the resident expert on all things HYPER-V I'm sure has a method or example.

    For my Linux example running the latest W11 build as a VM :

    The TPM emulator daemon up and running

    The VM configuration -- VM boot options also set to UEFI and secure boot -- on Linux Hosts using QEMU/KVM install OVMF for secure boot "Virtual BIOS" for the VM.

    W11 as a VM running successfully

    TPM module seen by Windows 11 Virtual Machine (no physical TPM / Disabled in BIOS )

    For those unable to re-size partition(s) on Windows -- if you've sufficient space for re-size then download GPARTED iso and create bootable USB. It works very similar to standard Windows partition managers but works much better !!!.

    Cheers

    Why buy a new one when your Lenovo IdeaPad S145 already meets all the requirements to get a free update to Windows 11 when it's released? You have TPM 2.0 and your Athlon 300U is a supported processor.
