My work pc (I7-7700 cpu - MSI Mobo) seems ready for w11 now that I have configured BIOS settings. My work pc (i7-5960x - Gigabyte mobo) is almost there but I have been unable to enable TPM because I don't see any option in BIOS even if PK keys are enabled and Secure Boot too.
From an Italian blog How to avoid control of the TPM 2.0 chip to prevent the installation of W11
Come evitare il controllo del chip TPM 2.0 da parte di Windows 11 - IlSoftware.it
This gonna sound weord, but after it finishes with all the DLs and gives you the message about all the errors, it will also say "if you restart the download it will continue". ok.... I saw the Command File for Download so right clicked it and ran as admin. It went back and did the other downloads then took off normally. It finally after what seemed to be forever did create an ISO. 5.4GB. I've seen big ones, bit not for a selection of just Pro. So I have an ISO, but not quite sure "of what".
So 7th generation Intels (Kaby) will possibly be supported, but not Skylakes? Do they even realize that Kabylake was just an optimized Skylake, with an identical set of instructions and both equally vulnerable to Spectre/Meltdown? Oh wait, I'm sure they do, they're just doing what Intel is telling them to do
That's a good question. Why do the hardware level fixes suddenly matter more than OS level? Very suspicious. It's possible that some of the vulnerabilites can't be resolved with software patches, however.
I've clicked the link on page 1, got to the page where it's supposed to be but all I see is this,..
Check for compatibility
Use the PC Health Check app to see if your current PC meets the requirements to run Windows 11. If so, you can get a free upgrade when it rolls out.
