Bought my TPM 2.0 enabled motherboard two years ago. Well, July 2019--close enough for government work...

Depends on the motherboard. On mine, it is a 14 pin header. AGAIN, NOT NEEDED if your CPU supports TPM2 and you select Firmware instead of Discrete in the PCH-FW Configuration in the BIOS.
I will upgrade to a new computer soon and the ASUS AMD motherboard I am looking at, does have a header for an SPI_TPM module which is purchased separately and of course, is out of stock everywhere. Considering how important TPM is to Windows 11, maybe motherboard manufacturers should include a TPM module with the motherboard?

I realize the TPM module is not needed if your CPU supports TPM2, but from what I have read, that is not as secure as having the separate TPM module. It would also be nice if the cpu specifications show if they support TPM2. Maybe all new processors support TPM2?

    Open BIOS
    Use F7 to go advanced
    Click settings
    Click security
Security sub-menu (listed on page 68 of the mobo manual)
Use this menu to set the administrator password and the user password for system
    security.
This menu also allows you to set the TPM (Trusted Platform Module)
    function
You should now be able to enable TPM device and enable (PTT)
    Save and exit BIOS reboot
Once the system finds the TPM device, again in the BIOS you can add the keys

TPM should then appear in Device manager under Security Devices
In the submenu you mention is a point called Security Device Support which is disabled default. When I enable this, my PC would not POST. Had to reset BIOS to default to get into BIOS again. I then found some info about this new ver 1.7 BIOS which support both Intel Gen 10 and Gen 11 CPU's. I then tried to downgrade to ver 1.6 which is latest BIOS NOT supporting Gen 11 CPU, and now everything is working. I enable Security Device Support, TPM Device selection is default PTT, and now it works just fine. Is is a faulty BIOS 1.7? Is it because it has to support 2 Gen CPU's? I don't know, but it helped to flash down to ver 1.6.

This is where understanding where your BIOS is and how your PC is setup. If you're not using UEFI for Windows and try to change certain settings you may run boot issues. That said, I'm not sure if embedded TPM specifically requires UEFI or not.

With that, may I suggest you go over this tutorial before following procedures that may not apply to your setup - Verify Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Chip on Windows PC

What happens if you use a local account in Windows 10 Home and you upgrade to Windows 11 Home? Will you be forced to sign in with a Microsoft account to use your computer?
