We've been running this sh*t OS on sh*t hardware for decades!!! Why all of a sudden the stringent requirements?!?!?!

MS is becoming so fecking anal about security!!!
I'm far from being a developer, and I have no idea what's going on under the hood with various generations of Intel, AMD, and ARM CPUs.

However, in my opinion, "stringent" isn't the word. "Arbitrary" is closer. Especially when the CPU/Motherboard supports TPM 2.0 already.

It's not personally very relevant, but I hope by the time 11 goes RTM, that the CPU thing is sorted. The whole issue seems to be a bit of a charlie foxtrot, within Microsoft. Will your PC run Windows 11? Even Microsoft can't say for sure | ZDNet

    Windows 11

    Hmmmmm.

1 old timer PC (custom build) which I still use daily can not run Windows 11
1 Acer Aspire all in one PC (4 years old) seems to be able to run Windows 11
1 Newer Custom build PC with Asus prime Z390 and Intel I7 9400 does lack the TPM module

So I think I am going to wait till 2025 when Windows 10 goes out of support to evaluate.

Not in a hurry for Windows 11

The Asus prime Z390 will have onboard TPM via PTT in your bios advanced > PCH-FW options, it will just need turning on.

    Note:
The TPM was used on Windows Hello and Bitlocker.

Microsoft is definitely putting all the incompatible PC out on an electronics recycler station.

My PC is definitely a toast if W10 is EOL

Bitlocker and Hello work here without a TPM!
