Does DirectX 9.0c still work under Win 11 ? I have to have it in order to play Everquest/EQ II.

Besides lots of things I have no use for, I'm retired, and what appears to be cosmetic changes, what else does Win 11 accomplish ?

    Hello @WXC,

Have you seen this? > Introducing Windows 11

Obviously, create a System Image BEFORE you do anything.

    I hope this helps.

The TPM required is evidently sold out, and my motherboard may not have a place to plug one into. I've seen the video.

I'm retired and have no need to worry about 'productivity'. And frankly, the video looked more like a promo, than facts.

Which exact Lenovo desktop do you have? (Model number.)

Some models that use the Lenovo 370A motherboard use 10th generation Intel CPUs. Qualified for Win11.

Such a system is almost certainly new enough to include PTT (platform trust technology), which is Intel's firmware TPM. No plugin module would be required. The Lenovo manual may not be helpful in finding the BIOS setting to activate it, though.

I have a 4 year old Lenovo Ideapad laptop. It has a Gen 6 cpu (not qualified for 11), but it still has PTT. It was turned on by default. To check whether yours is, run the command tpm.msc. For my laptop, it reports TPM 2.0

I post this not to encourage you to go to Windows 11, but I think that you would be able to if you wished to.

In this and similar cases, the Lenovo Bios Simulator can help.

I've been playing around with Win 11. Didn't think the round corners would actually make me notice it. But it's actually surprisingly kinda jarring. Like something's off, lol

I checked out my laptop which is a Lenovo Ideapad 310 with DDR4 and an Intel i3- 6100U skylake 6th generation processor and there is TPM enabled. Of course this will not be getting W11, its the desktop which has been running in the slow lane that will be, if ever I can get a TPM module and if Microsoft eventually allow the Athlon 3000G to use W11. As far as I'm concerned, spending more money on a newer more powerful processor which uses more electricity is a waste.
