Calm down.

Just got off the phone with Supermicro and Gigabyte on the TPM thingy.

Surpermicro, TPM 2.0, type is a AOM-TPM-9665V-C(vertical mount), for the 20 pin header on my MB (MOBO Gigabyte z87x ud4h, i7 4790k processor). Supermicro could not provide any assistance on driver needed or provisioning needed for this MB. Advised to call Gigabyte.

Gigabyte call. Very informative. No TPM support for WIN 11 at this time. However, my MB and processor will be compatible with new TPM. They, gigabyte, are in the early stages to engineering and production of a compatible TPM module for Win 11. That module and all supporting software should be available at a later date for sale to general public.

If your mother board has a TPM header call your board maker for particulars imo.

07/01/2021 @ 2:16 PM Notice from Gigabyte. Boards with socket 1150 will not support Win 11 at this time.

I've clicked the link on page 1, got to the page where it's supposed to be but all I see is this,..

    Check for compatibility

Use the PC Health Check app to see if your current PC meets the requirements to run Windows 11. If so, you can get a free upgrade when it rolls out.
    COMING SOON
As I understand it, Microsoft has temporarily pulled the PC Checker tool based on some feedback from users, and it will be re-released soon with some retooling done to it.

However, that was yesterday's news, and with everything changing fast that may be in error now.

    here latest iso

microsoft say that they maybe lower processors to also 7 generation intel :)

    here on WM works ok

Bottom line is that intel 7th gen has many processors that have equivalents in 8th gen and later. Heck a i7-7700 is basically the same as current gen i3's. My system is TPM 2.0, with secure boot, with DX 12 ultimate, with speed and ram that obliterates the specs. Yet MS chooses to not support the processor why? Frankly most i7's and I5's as long as they have secure boot and a TPM header that can be updated to a new TPM have no reason to not be supported. I think this is MS pacifying the OEM's. Nothing short of a money grab.

    Hi,

Agreed. On top of that I don't see any reason why not to include gen. 6 processors as well.
After all there ain't hardly any difference between gen 6 and 7, right ?

    Cheers,

Interesting. I have a 2012 GA-Z77X-UD5H Gigabyte motherboard with a TPM 1.2 socket. Gigabyte advise they no longer supply the TPM module. Do you have TPM 2.0?

As MS have tried THREE versions of the Compatability Tool, and it STILL does NOT work correctly, and it does NOT tell you what the incompatability actually is, you can try this App . . .

    > WhyNotWin11 - GitHub

It is Safe, BUT, it might throw up that it is an Unsafe App Warning.

    I hope this helps.

I cannot be naïve enough to believe the manufacture because they where very hesitant on telling me about the tpm 2.0 header and their new chip availability. My board is TPM 2.0 compliant as to the header. Socket is 1150 which they, gigabyte said is not tpm 2.0 compliant. That's strange. I am going into stand by mode for many years as this whole deal smells rotten. BTW I do have a Supermicro TPM 2.0 device and it was momentarily seen in device manager but has since vanished from there but is showing in sys information. Probably a newer BIOS would do the trick but there is no bios newer than f10b for this board that I am aware of.
