Yep, that would never happen. Droves would instantly move to Linux.

Get ready for Monthly Subscription OS from microsoft
Hi there
I believe it's already pencilled in as to be called Windows/365. !!!
If Windows becomes subscription - I'll just keep running stuff on Virtual Machines -- still running some old legacy apps on an XP Virtual Machine - and for email even OUTLOOK EXPRESS on XP still works !!!!!! although OFFICE 2010 is fine (or even OFFICE 2007).
XP image running on Linux Host
cheers

Hi,
Subscription would just be another carrot on the stick approach for more features and mandating ms account usage
Otherwise they'd just rename home/ pro into windows or windows 10 and leave it at that no big deal.
Thinking people would dump 10 and droves for linux is pretty funny lol

I have a friend who is still running XP and not having any problems - hint, hint.

Whatever they deliver we will use. It's in our nature.

Time for the next Bill Gates to hit the garage and come up with a new OS.

I think somebody would definitely do that if Microsoft makes the blunder of going to a subscription plan for Windows. Google and some other companies would love nothing better than getting a legitimate shot at displacing Windows as the #1 OS.

I wish someone would come up with a OS that works.
