My motherboard has a TPM slot but its the older TPM1.2 standard. The Gigabyte TPM modules are not available anyway. The Windows 11 requirement for TPM 2.0 support is an epically stupid commercial decision

Same machine I did a clean install of Win 11 gives me this on a in-place upgrade of Insider VM running on it. Balderdash. VMWare is not up to snuff or the Setup is not.

The Compatibility Support Module (CSM) is a component of the UEFI firmware that provides legacy BIOS compatibility by emulating a BIOS environment, allowing legacy operating systems and some option ROMs that do not support UEFI to still be used.
Ah yes, I sort of knew that. Just a bit of acronym overload Anyway, legacy mode is off. In fact, my BIOS won't allow it to be on if Secure Boot is on. I'm just not going to worry about it. I had a feeling it was the app - Thurrot and Foley seem to agree with me.

I'm just now getting around to watching it. And I'm happy I waited, considering all the screams of anguish about the 'lagtastic' broadcast.

That was a GREAT start, M$.

You might have a tpm connector on the motherboard to put a tpm 2.0 chip in.

You don't have secure boot in the bios tab at the bottom?

edit: ok you have secure boot
Yeah I have SB but it's off, checked for TPM but I can't find it. Checked really hard in BIOS, everything! Same thing for SB, well hidden prob! (Changes to Windows 10 install thingy in BIOS won't bring up SB either)

sellers will binge on these tpm 2.0 modules for windows 11, things will get better.

edit: It is true that if it is the motherboard manufacturers who control the production of tpm chips, maybe they will do a scheduled Obsolescence ...

Watched the event, not live, and not completely, but enough to confirm that Microsoft was correct. Windows 10 is the very last version of Windows . . . that I will ever install.Talk about bloat. Just give me an Operating System that works, and works well. I'll worry about the rest.
