So you actually don't need all that TPM and other stuff? And that secureboot mess?
In my case, I knew I had a TPM and I had secure boot on, so the Health thing "lied" to me, and I knew it. To prove it, I made a thumb with Rufus and booted and installed.

I don't know what would happen if the machine simply did not have it and that was tried.

It will tell you that you don't have it if it's not enabled in BIOS.

There will be (and are already) ways around it, so I hear. Remember, that is for booting to clean install as far as I know. That's the only time a TPM would come into play, when you have a device such as USB thumb or DVD inserted and attempting a boot from it.
An in-place upgrade should not be affected.
On recent Macs, the Security System Preference defaults to not permitting a boot from other than the internal SSD (might also include non-SSD if the OS is recent enough). I always advised my clients to disable that setting as it basically bricks the machine when macOS decides to go south for some reason.

I was TheMacGuy but retired at the end of March (after 25+ years). I'm a Windows guy now. Like Satya said, it's all about not being locked into specific hardware.

OK, peeked into the BIOS and UEFI is enabled but can't find Secure Boot anywhere? I have a gigabyte motherboard h110m-s2h-cf

How the heck I don't have TPM?! (Could not find TPM1.2 or higher on this PC)
You might have a tpm connector on the motherboard to put a tpm 2.0 chip in.

You don't have secure boot in the bios tab at the bottom?

But I don't understand Dencal. Why the heck are these computers being flagged as 'failed' by Microsoft?
Because the app that checks for compatibility with Win11 is buggy.

I think that "Secure BOOT" requirement is dropped, mine is not enabled in BIOS yet it passed the test and W100 installed.
