Microsoft was probably trying to prevent installs on real hardware with the TPM 2 requirement. I'd highly doubt they would require that since almost no desktop hand built has a TPM module installed on it.
Actually, I think it's just an error with drivers as some of us managed to get it running one way or other. My MB does have TPM 2.2 and yet it still refused, I just transferred everything from VM to actual disk and TPM driver and support was downloaded and installed automatically. BunnyJ just transferred necessary files to W11 ISO and it worked.

Well, all the reviews I have seen on leaked versions just show W11 (or whatever) is just cosmetic flim flam with virtually no change under the hood.

One change reported is that if you have Home version, you have to use an MS account, and even if you try and use tricks like not connecting to internet, it still will not allow you to use a local login.

This is disgraceful. You have to upgrade to Pro to use a local account.

MS - hang your head in shame at such a cynical move.

I'm very confused by all the latest developments. I've only built my 10 machine back in December (been working with 7 before that) and suddenly there is 11? Not that I'm very attached to 10 (the way I was attached to 7). So I joined the new 11 Forums, hopefully I will learn something. But not being able to install without connecting to the internet? That sounds awfully wrong to me, I just don't do that.

I asked about if you needed to have an MS Account during installation [ Connect to the Internet ] here . . .

I hope this helps to a certain extent.

    Hello @Paul Black,

is it still so with "Windows 11"? From this thread and from those over at 11 Forums I gathered people are suspecting the opposite.

To be honest, we will NOT know the full story or impact until the official release on or after the 24-Jun-2021.

If we are dealing with an internal development build, which is what has been stated all along, I would expect a microsoft ID to be a prerequisite for activation at this time as no one outside of Microsoft should have access to the installer

We also do not know if anything has been added to the installer code by third parties so we may be dealing with hacked setup requirements for innocent or Not Innocent purposes

Sounds to me like they are just doing what Apple do and everyone has to have an email address and account to link stuff electronically and in the cloud. And that for most home users that wouldn’t be an issue. And that anyone who knew enough to want a local account would probably have pro anyway. Or decide to upgrade and pay - as I did just to be able to block windows updates! So that is not new having to pay for pro to have more hands on control. I didn’t read the links above though so maybe there is a workaround
