    Update:
    Windows 11 requires:
    Secure Boot
and TPM 2.0 (this is why I can't install W11 in my PC)
The leaked build does, no one knows What the real Windows 11 requirements will be.

Well, all the reviews I have seen on leaked versions just show W11 (or whatever) is just cosmetic flim flam with virtually no change under the hood.

One change reported is that if you have Home version, you have to use an MS account, and even if you try and use tricks like not connecting to internet, it still will not allow you to use a local login.

This is disgraceful. You have to upgrade to Pro to use a local account.

MS - hang your head in shame at such a cynical move.

I hope M$ hears about these flim flam problems so they can address it..

plus I found a TPM SPI module on Amazon.com so it shouldn't be a problem.. I hope.. but why do I really need one of those gizmos.. its just extra M$ nonsense..

Microsoft was probably trying to prevent installs on real hardware with the TPM 2 requirement. I'd highly doubt they would require that since almost no desktop hand built has a TPM module installed on it.

Are these so-called reviews based on a leaked internal testing build, that was never meant to be tested by the public and nowhere near the open beta?

Don't order stuff yet. This is a leaked beta on which assumptions shouldn't be based on really. Besides, if we think about it - making TPM, especially 2.0 a requirement seems like an impossible strategy from the business side.
They would instantly lose half of their potential markets by excluding desktops. Desktops don't have TPMs. And there are many laptops still in use that have TPM 1.1, which would then also be excluded.

It could be just a strong recommendation. One way or another there will be a way to get around this. Remember when they wanted to require continuous online presence for DRM purposes on the first generation Xbox One? They quickly backtracked from that idea as well, controlled the damage before it happened. They will probably do the same here.

As @pparks1 wrote, they were more than likely trying to prevent installations on real hardware, in case of... a leak...

I asked about if you needed to have an MS Account during installation here . . .
