If MS decides to go subscription my staying on Windows will depend on the cost. If they go Ad supported with no way to turn them off I will definitely switch. I was a Linux user for a few years so it wouldn't be that hard to adjust. I would hate to lose some of my paid programs but I'm sure that most can be replaced with a Linux alternative.

The enablement package is a great option for installing a scoped feature update like Windows 10, version 21H1 as it enables an update from version 2004 or 20H2 to version 21H1 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. This enables devices to take advantage of new features now. For version 2004 and 20H2 devices that receive updates directly from Windows Update, devices automatically get the enablement package by installing the feature update to Windows 10, version 21H1.

Just a thought.

I really don't have the $ to deal with a new version of Windows and newer hardware...
It took all the courage I could muster just to upgrade from Windows 7 ULTIMATE to Windows 10 Pro.

I had a feeling it might look like Windows 10X.

An article on ZDNet is speculating that "Windows 11" won't be a completely new operating system, but rather it will be built on top of the Windows 10 core.
