Of course they do, how would they have made all of these Profits by giving away Operating Systems? Windows 11 will also be free. They are in Cahoots with the Hardware people plus they themselves are selling it.
They don't give away server editions. And those are much more pricey than client builds.

And they make money off Azure and related services, Office, and lots of other stuff.

It's giving me trouble with Directx 12. The old version say's that Directx is not Directx 12. It is Directx 12. The newest version 2.2.0.0,says Directx 12 but not WDDM 2. My desktop has WDDM 3.0. The programs is getting there though.

MS just made it into trillion dollar club, somehow I don't have to worry about them.

There should not be any problem with the same conversation in both forums.
Maybe some don't want to post in two forums at the same time.

I just ran WhyNotWin 11 on my Acer Spin i7 laptop. Everything passed except the CPU compatibility. It shows a ! mark. My laptop has a i7-6500U running @ 2.50 GHz. It has 2 cores and 4 threads so I don't see why I can't run Windows 11 on it. PC Health Checks still says I can't run Win 11 on this desktop.

I believe the CURRENT Intel processor requirement for Windows 11 is 8th gen or newer.

That CPU is 6th generation Intel and MS currently only has 8th generation and above on their CPU list.
I have the same issue here.

7th gen pretty beefy and nice system is barred, also. So they say. Guess that's why it clean installed with no issues. Hmmmmm.
