Has anybody had luck getting this installed on a 21H1 machine? It sounds as if it's part of App Installer, which is installed on all my systems, but it hasn't been updated for quite a while and Microsoft Store doesn't show any available update. Package Manager is working on my DEV system, but I would also like to have this useful feature for my other machines.

Use this this link. I did on Beta, which is the same build as current

Do you have build 21390.x? The winget cmd line is not recognized here too after the fresh install offline.

I did not try the store (not using it), but clicking the bundle file (download or double-click) enables Winget in Powershell.

It works immediately, if we don't restart we get abnormal characters. We have to restart to see updates are underway, please don't turn off your computer.

If you aren't using build 21390.1, you must install it I guess. Have you tried double clicking the bundle package at Github? Is here an option to reinstall app installer (MS store)?
No, I have 21H1 Build 19043.1052, not a developer version,

I get this but I haven't specifically installed winget. I assumed it was installed by having AppInstaller.

You still need to go to Release Windows Package Manager v1.0.11451 . microsoft/winget-cli . GitHub & run the Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller_8wekyb3d8bbwe.appxbundle for winget to be a recognized command...or i'm confused. Did you do that & it's still not working?

If your question was why it wasn't included with the AppInstaller itself, it will be in the future but that won't happen on regular release versions of Windows until the next Feature update i believe.

Remember it just came out of Preview or "beta" & they're still ironing out some issues such as overlapping builds uploaded to the library & corrupt manifests...things being posted to the repo now have to be human approved.
