I'm still jumping through hoops to get WU to behave on my old (2012) Lenovo X220 Tablet. Works just fine on the newer (2018) Lenovo X380 Yoga laptop. I'm thinking it's just about time to retire the older machine: it's got issues with the Intel Management Engine, and I often can download and install Defender updates without doing so manually or working through WUMT. This helps me answer the question: when do you know it's time to retire an older test machine? Answer: when it's more time consuming to get it update-ready, than to perform the update itself. Does that make sense?
Cheers!
