    Downloaded and installed.

First thing I did was to Disable News and Interests on Taskbar thanks to Brink's tutorial here:
How to Enable or Disable News and Interests on Taskbar in Windows 10

Option Two - using the REG file did the trick :) Thanks Shawn.

This is a General News topic...
You would need to make a separate topic for that.

That way our Gurus could handle your problem, specifically.
    Also... Welcome to Ten Forums.

Did both updates pretty quickly and so far no problems, DISM & SFC were clean.

BTW, anybody know what the latest DISM version is? I'm getting 19041.844.
That is correct. Many of the system objects follow the base kernel level.

    (fix your sig........)

Also just downloaded and installed here but M$! DO SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE DARN PAUSES! (at 21% and 74%!) It's annoying as heck!

    No taskbartroubles here!
They aren't really pauses, in the standard sense. If you were to look at Task Manager you would find plenty of I/O and CPU activity. The % progress is not time linear. The % changes when a predefined (don't ask me) section of the install is complete. Not much you can do about it.

One of those sections is installing a Servicing Stack Update, which is now bundled as part of the CU rather than a separate update.

That SSU, if present, is the first rather quick 0-100% install, then the main line installation which starts over at 0%. I believe the Racoon is referring to the mainline.

Only thing, so far, is I've had to disable the "open on hover" for News and Interests. It kept popping open when I didn't want it. My task bar is a bit crowded and it was way too easy to land the cursor on it accidentally. News and Interests is something you probably either love or hate.

You are not supposed to be watching - just let it go about its business, and you go about yours. It's supposed to be a background process. I doubt it's even really paused in its workings - it's just paused on the pctg display ;-)
