    Pretty serious drop in performance, bench results show about 15% loss to previous version, mainly CPU and graphics.

    Hmmm, you took it to mean that? I took it to mean that they merely fixed an issue some saw where .NET was being repeatedly offered for installation.

    Mine did that St. Vitus dance, too. Then got to 98% download and sat there like it was in a coma. Did a restart and it took off like a rocket and finished in 20 minutes.

    The cynic in me thinks that the easiest way of getting around bouncing updates is to incorporate them in the upgrade.
