Hey Bree. Just got the 21H1 update and my Update History still lists the 2004 update. I am using an X64 bit system. Weird!!
That is weird. All my x64 systems lost the 2004 update from history, whether in Home and Pro. Only my two x86 system (one Home, the other Pro) retained it. (All mine are the en-gb install, if that makes any difference).

PS: still don't see that news and info option in the taskbar, not that I want it.
Maybe has to do with Cortana being disabled.
News & information seems to be quite independent of the 21H1 update. I got it on two of my 20H2 machines weeks ago, after the May 11 cumulative update. The majority of my machines are still waiting to get it though, even though they all got the same CU.

Rebooted to see if it went away and it's still there.

Yup, Just showed up through WU today here to for the main system, took like few min only, very fast.

I have "News and Interests" widget on my production machine running 21H1 with Cortana disabled. So no thing to do with whether Cortana is enabled or not.

Maybe it listed in "other"section, for me I only have this one now under "feature updates" (21h1)..
But if I go to old control panel>installed updates I have this one(21H1) and 20H2 enablement package.

On 20H2, I initially got News and Interests with a CU Preview in April. When I updated to 21H1 via the MSU link, it totally disappeared. Perhaps it might return with the next CU Preview? Just guessing.

The "News and Interests" widget is on a staggered rollout. It is not the first time I have seen it come and go. Really don't know the rationale behind the kind of testing MS is endeavoring.

Just updated to 21H1 a few minutes ago. Download and Install took only 17 minutes! Everything seems to be running fine and smooth so far!

so to upgrade from 20H2 to 21H1 has two steps:
    1. install EP
    2. install update, but which one? for x64 arch. thx
