Use the appropriate download link from KB5000736 Featured update Windows 10 version 21H1 enablement package near the end of the OP.

    Hmm, I wonder why.

I downloaded the MSU file earlier and now again with the link you posted which is same as I used earlier.

    Hmm...

I was presented with 21H1 via WU push and installed on two systems.

After rebooting, I tried running WU again and it just keeps searching on and off.
Does anyone have the same problem?

At my home. 3 computers running Windows 10.

    2 Months-old Laptops
1 Desktop from 2010 (HP Pavilion)

The download and install was relatively fast, like a regular monthly update.

But, the 2 newer laptops required a second restart, after the first restart.

There was no "restart required" fly-out for the second restart. But when pressing the "Power" icon, two options were "Update and Restart" and "Update and Shut Down". First time I've experienced a need for 2 restarts.

The older desktop only required (the usual) 1 restart.

If this 21H1 is a big update, why didn't Windows say, "You have successfully updated to the latest version of Windows-10. Here are all the new whiz-bang features you'll enjoy in 21H1." ??

Maybe 21H1 only contains goodies for those are into games and the 3D stuff, which is why I see and feel no difference from 20H2 and 21H1.

I just performed the update to 21H1 today. Why does the system say it was installed on 12/21/2020? (See below)

    Edition Windows 10 Home
    Version 21H1
    Installed on ‎12/‎21/‎2020
    OS build 19043.985
    Serial number xxxxxxxxxxx

Because it's not a proper upgrade, it's a mini upgrade activating code that was already in place by an enablement package.

21H1 offered by WU. In contrast to earlier updates, this update was extremely fast. One restart and within 2 min. done.
Till now, I do not see any changes in layout.

Plunged down the rabbit hole after creating a current disk image- and seem to have emerged unscathed.

I noted visual search added to taskbar search:

Meanwhile this must be some kind of personal record- 2 feature updates listed in succession..

It's not offering it to me yet on my old lappy. Not going to force it.
