The "news and interests" bar does not appear to me.

    It is normal?
Not everyone has it yet as it's being rolled out slowly.

Read the post in following on possible ways to get it now:
How to Enable or Disable News and Interests on Taskbar in Windows 10

This is the 20H2 SNAFU, happens on clean installs before real-deal Windows updates take place.

It looks like 20H2 has a problem with SFC or a whoops with some file data.

Happens on multiple PCs, come on Microsoft! :/

How do you remove that News and Interests feature? I do not need it.
I got that feature, too, on my main Ryzen system. (Matisse, which is the 3rd-gen Ryzen)
But didn't see that with 10 Pro on the Haswell (4th-gen Core i) system.

Noting neither the Control Panel nor Update History show the time of installation, I wonder if that's actually recorded...?

Easy install on my system. Winver reports 19042.985 and not seeing an adverse issues. Nor do I see the News and Interests in Taskbar yet.

Guess I’m in minority but I like news and interests.

I'm in two minds, but I'm leaving it there for now (it's growing on me).

One thing I have found, when cleaning cookies in Edge you have to keep the ones for msn.com and windows.msn.com else it forgets any preference you have made. I'm way outside the demographic for OK! or Hello magazine.

I see it on all my Home machines that have taken the update, but not on any of my Pro machines yet....

News and Interests in Taskbar is piped in "My Interests" > Feeds. RSS I assume.

I only see it in Insider, RP, and Beta. Like Bree, no RTM Pro yet.KB5003173 CU Windows 10 2004 19041.985, 20H2 19042.985, 21H1 19043.985-2021-05-13_08h38_22.png

This is where it goes if you click Manage Interests at the top.

Interestingly, I have clicked the 'Hide story' option at the top right of a story in News & interests then selected 'I do not like this source'. It hides their stories all right, but none of the publishers get listed as 'hidden' on that Manage Interests page . Maybe it's because I don't sign in with an MS account?

If so, your/my/our Interests are being subject to Cloudification. Surprise!

OK I looked again and News and Interests *is* present, but the Taskbar setting was "Off". I figure I'll give it a try as long as it doesn't cause performance issues.
