Echrada, be very very careful with versions of software that hasn't been released yet. Conmen and hackers routinely prey on people who'll download software that's not really out there from unidentified sources.

If the Windows 9 preview doesn't come with a System Restore capability to go back to 8.1, I won't be able to risk installing it. I can't be without a working computer.
It's not a good idea to install a beta OS over a main OS you are using. You may wanna grap any cheap hard drives you can find and install the Win 9 preview separately.

Thanks but do not be concerned for me as I do not download from torrents! I have subs to legal downloads i.e. MSDN etc.

Why not simply go with a dual boot? Just put Win 9 Preview on another partition and you should be safe.

I'm certainly going to dual boot 9 and 8.1.1 with separate hard disks

Hi
"If the Windows 9 preview doesn't come with a System Restore capability to go back to 8.1, I won't be able to risk installing it. I can't be without a working computer. "
Make a system image of your hard drive using a program like Paragon Backup and Restore or EaseUS, TODO backup.
That's how I recovered Windows 8 when Windows 8.1 didn't work on my computer.
It's only a half hour to an hour to be back up and running just like it was to start with.
I plan on dual booting the Windows 9 install with Windows 8 to try it without risking my normal setup.

Pretty much the way I've always done it. Never had a single problem with the install itself, even back in the old Longhorn days lol
