    Why the hate for Cortana?
In my case, it never did anything good for me in this locale and was only interfering and was just taking resources. One particularly funny but annoying thing she was doing, When microphone was enabled and TV was running it kept on offering to translate to French.
Now when I know Cortana is same as News, whether etc. I know why it was coming and gong with some updates. I had Cortana disabled and uninstalled but this last update brought it back. Once I uninstalled Cortana again, News bar is gone too.

    Hi there
I too hate voice activated apps such as Cortana etc -- just yelling at a machine just seems bonkers to me - and in any case what's wrong with working in a bit of peace and quiet --there's enough ambient noise around at the moment -- and can you imagine when two or more people want to change TV channels at the same time using voice commands when they are sitting in the same room. !!

For visually impaired people these types of apps can make a lot of sense but for me --no thanks !!!!

I only scream at a TV for example if the team I'm supporting scores a goal or if there's some idiotioc politician on TV pitching rubbish for your votes at any forthcomong election.

    Cheers

MS has introduced yet another key, when News is disabled. MS's love for Cortana is undeniable.
    Code:
    reg add "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Cortana" /v "IsAvailable" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f

    After cleanup does Macrium work?
I forgot to check my email for notifications for your reply's. Sorry!

No, Macrium after clean up of Acronis still didnt work so I uninstalled it and I downloaded a installer for EaseUS todo backup software to see if it works better than Macrium.

    Try AOMEI

How does AOMEI work for you? Would it be better than Macruim or EaseUS in my case where the VSS is destroyed?

Macrium says, that is corrupted as it did in my case, but EasyUS worked, you can try it out.
I think I will try easeUS out and see how it goes. If it works better than Macrium I will keep it and use that as my backup software.

I guess that depends on disk? I have full OS backup created in ~30 secs (15 GB size). Restore takes ~5 mins.

I am used to slow. This computers boot up time is 4 and half minutes to get to a not responding lock screen and then 2 minutes of login speed after that. The worst that could happen is that I need to leave the computer running all night just to get a back up of it. I have a 5400 RPM HDD in my PC if your wondering.

They are both great Apps; it is only a matter of choice. As a matter-of-fact, I use both of them. Most members in TF have a penchant for MR and I have been using it for a long time and never incurred any problem.

Now, that your Start Menu is working, as @Caledon Ken already asked: is your MR working now?. I would try to run the DISM command-lines first thing:

    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
    sfc /scannow
    dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
    dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

The last one "StartComponentCleanup" is run only if the previous one "AnalyzeComponentStore" gives the green light, i.e., "Yes" as you may already know.
If you need these logs I will post them below.
