Unlike a lot of folks on here... I only have three startup items and if necessary I can just check Services, to see if they're running. I don't really care about the startup tab in Task Manager.

Now if they take away Task Manager's ability to stop a process, well then MS better start running.

Is it normal for settings app's storage management to show that there's over 600 Mb of Windows Update files left under the "temporary files" category, when classic disk cleanup reports that there's only 50 Mb (which has been the norm for some time now). Settings app won't let me remove those files. After this CU there was nothing to clean in classic disk cleanup, only the placeholder of 50 Mb.

Mine seems to be stuck at 168MB that I can't remove in both Settings and classic Disk Cleanup.

I have noticed before that after some (but not all) CUs Disk Clean-up does not report any Windows Update files to clean up. When that happens I have taken to running dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup which, despite there being apparently nothing to clean up, usually finds a GB or so to remove. After that, for 19042.928 my Storage and Disk Clean-up looks like this - no windows update files to be seen anywhere.

    KB5001330 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.928 and v20H2 19042.928-disk-clean-up-vs-storage.png

BTW, if Windows Update consistently show some tens of MB for Windows Update files that it can't clean up, then look at 'uninstall updates' for any Flash updates that can be uninstalled. The 'update to remove Flash player' only prevents new Flash updates from installing - it disables, but does not remove, previous ones.

...That mysterious 55MB in Windows Update Clean up that never gets removed has been bugging me since October. Unistalling the older of my two listed Flash updates got rid if it.

Haven't run that for a while. maybe I'll give it a go.

    Update.

Don't think that did anything. It ran though in about 2 seconds.

I also use this UnCleaner - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download after all other cleanups including Disk Cleanup (as Admin) and DISM: fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\&fsutil usn deletejournal /d /n c:&Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase&pause
    Uncleaner quite oftendeletes/saves over 1TB.

Also on 21H1, installed no problem. Took about 5 minutes - much better than last month when I had to make a new ISO and do an in-place upgrade to get to .906.

I was in a state of panic for a few minutes when it hung at 20% before getting to 44%!
