I'm afraid this is not correct. My laptop has a single integrated Intel® HD Graphics 620 and KIR was applied a few days after installing KB5001330.

Right on Ed!!! That's what I thought. But KIR was applied on my system a few days after KB5001330 got installed....Go figure!!!!![]()
I've encountered systems where KIR does and doesn't get applied. That's why I say it "may" not apply for integrated display adapters. I just booted a laptop a few minutes ago with an Intel® HD Graphics adapter and the KIR was applied. I'm not sure what criteria must be met for the KIR to be applied. When you figure it all out, let us know.

No. Your system will completely explode and you'll just be sitting there with powder burns and ragged hair (...just kidding, of course you can install it). But your graphics performance may go from 144FPS to 44FPS until the KIR is applied. So you must decide if you want to risk that.
