Hi, since Windows update won't find the update I tried to install the update manually.
    I'm getting this error:
    KB5001649 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.870 and v20H2 19042.870-error.png

    Windows 10 Pro X64 20H2 ver. 19042.928

I have same PC and same NB HW with same OS build and version where installation was completed without problems.

    Any suggestions ?

Verify you have downloaded the correct MSU, you need the x64 version. Not x86, not ARM.

You seem to have a later CU already applied. 19042.928 vs this CU 19042.870.

    I have:
    KB5001649 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.870 and v20H2 19042.870-error.png
I downloaded it only once then save it to our network drive - it's the same file that was successfully installed on other computers.

I completely reset Windows Update - no difference
I tried repair install with 20H2 iso - no difference

I found you can actually install .cab file from extracted .msu - is that OK to do so ?

What does Winver say? What makes you think it's not installed properly?

    Winver here:
    KB5001649 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.870 and v20H2 19042.870-error.png

I can't see it in installed Hotfixes on computers where it failed to deploy.

Is it shown in Update History in settings, installed updates in Control Panel, or Reliability Monitor? Depending on how it was updated it may appear in one or more of these.

Well the update process obviously thinks it's already installed. I don't know what to suggest. Perhaps if you start a new thread in the Windows Updates forum someone may come along with an answer.
