Strange, mine failed yet again, but this time WU isn't offering anything.
To add to the mystery, there is now no mention of the update ever having failed.
    Has Microsoft withdrawn it?

I'm gonna check my VM 19042 to see if maybe it was pulled.

Nothing offered on my VM 19042. It probably has been pulled for repair.

Just checked, and the MUC is still there.

It showed as an optional update when I went to WU, but I checked for updates before I tried to install it. Once a Defender update had installed, the optional choice was gone.

Strangely enough, I debated about even downloading this KB, but decided to give it a shot via WU.

To my surprise it downloaded, installed and rebooted, without issue.

Ran SFC, which checked fine, ran DISM /Analyze component store and found one reclaimable packet. Ran DISM/Cleanup, which cleaned it up, then ran SFC again, and no issue.

Really odd, but worked from WU fine for me.

Good luck to each of you. Stay safe.

I tried to Download and Install it from WU today but after a few seconds of downloading it completely disappeared. No error code or message or anything else. Just vanished.

Last night I was getting KB5001649 but it was failing. Just now I got KB5001567 and it installed fine but now WU just shows I am up to date. I had not installed KB5001567 earlier as I don't have a printer so was waiting for Update Tuesday. I assume they have pulled KB5001649 from WU.

It seems it has been pulled. This update appeared last night on all five machines here after manually checking for updates. I then checked tenforums to see if there was any info about it or any issues, and saw 2 pages of grief, so decided to leave it as it was already past my bedtime. :) This morning, re-running WU causes the update to disappear from optional updates on all 5 machines, so I reckon MS have pulled it for now.
