I was getting the same error updating 19043.899 to 19043.906 from WU.

Created ISO with UUP and after the first attempt to install without lose my files and apps gave me the error 0x800f0830 - 0x20003.

Had to disable Secure Boot UEFI in Bios, install it again and i'm on 19043.906.

    Thanks.
MS have acknowledged the issue with updating and are working on a new CU. It seems going from .899 to .906 could be the problem.

Windows Update was made to update any update normally, so I expect the fix, the system is working on "Ok mode", so in the meantime, I update my interior versions of me.

I've paused updates for 7 days, hopefully MS will issue the new fix before next weekend. I'll grab it once it's available. I've got the option to use the UUP ISO but I'll hold off for now.

No need to pause, the installation will not work even.. and I believe that the fix will come before 7 days for sure.

Yes I'm sure too, I'll keep checking on here and remove the pause when the new update is available. Otherwise I keep getting failed attempts to install the bad update, it was easier to pause it

Just FYI for you any all else, this tiny utility will allow you to check for all updates, just like WU, but it won't take off and try to install anything. You can install from it, or hide (my favorite part!). Been around for quite a while and lots here use it for various reasons. Might be useful to you in this instance to check for any new CU MS throws out while you are "paused". It would show this one now if you were to run it.

I actually used the WU show/hide tool from MS but the update still showed. Oh well, the fix will be out soon and I'll unpause the updates.

I'm getting 0x80073701 errors trying to install the update when coming from 19043.844 for some reason. I've already tried a few basic troubleshooting steps though it doesn't seem to have made a difference, though I think i'll just leave it for a few days in the hope it will fix itself and if not then I will start the arduous task of trying to dive more in depth to what could be causing it.
For anyone else who may come across this in the future, I fixed the issue by downloading and installing a Insider Preview ISO on top of my current install, thanks to the advice of someone on the Microsoft Answers Community.

I am not an Insider so maybe posting this in the wrong thread?
Failed to install optional update KB5000842, ran the WaasMedic task then restarted and tried to install KB5000842 again: failed

I downloaded the msu file from WUC and tried to install KB5000842 manually, failed also. Will now wait for the April update.
Ran DISM online that took much longer than normal and SFC also took very long to complete; both no issues.
