Things are getting simpler to download updates and things like that, but getting more confusing with versions.
19041, 19042, 19043 20H1, 20H2, 2004, Rs release, beta release, prebuild release. I'm sure that MS will make it even more confusing.

    Makes me think of the USB thing 3.0, 3.0 gen 1, 3.0 gen 2, 3.0 gen 2X1, 3.0 gen 2X2

    Hi folks
The update went quickly enough - but the whole thing runs really poorly -- God help the future of W10 if this is the performance we are going to get - even on decent hardware.

I know these are beta releases but there must be some really overhead debugging code or something in the kernel -- performance wise this release is almost unuseable for me even on a 2 CPU 16 core system.

I noticed performance started getting poorer about 2 beta releases ago -- I've got a couple of Non insider releases which run OK (by Windows standards anyway) so its not my hardware !!!!.

From the screenshot you can see I have got hardly anything serious on this system -- all my apps are on the desktop as per the screenshot. Not even Photoshop installed on this release yet -- not even thinking about doing that currently.

Ah well -- Back to the future -- !!!! XP !!!!!! (it works Fast even as a VM !!) -- Copying a CD to a Minidisc - still runs fast -- 2 mins per CD and 2 - 3 CD's per minidisc - Have to run this on XP - I like minidiscs but support went out years ago - but studio quality pro minidisc recorder (no DRM) gives really good quality when played though proper speakers etc.

Are you on 20H2 or 21H1? Do you have .899 update?

Wrote my story up as a blog post, but the short version is "UUPDump in-place repair install works." Check it out: When WU Repairs Fail Try UUPDump.

I think that will be my choice at the weekend. The ISO is 19043.844 I believe. I think the update is failing with .899 installed

UUPDump gives you the 906 iso but it is very slow including the 906 CU and at some points seems to have stalled while Windows Defender crawls all over it so be prepared to wait.
