KB5001567 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.868 and v20H2 19042.868 Win Update

    KB5001567 does not resolve our KB5000802 issues. We continue to see blank spaces with Windows Fax. One day I hope we can discontinue faxing all together...

    on 202H Build19042.867 Still this unit is not seen on any of my other network computer, Still using the desktop folder I created called Network with short cuts to this computer. Sure seems they would fix this simple little problem.
    We will soon be dealing with 204H soon I suppose and my other 4 units are still on 2020

    Right, it's for both - so I'm just wondering if anyone else with 2004 got it since I didn't yet.

    I know I can go download it from the OP/MS catalog and install it that way, but want to see if it gets pushed to my 2004 PCs via WU - I've been manually checking for updates via WU and nothing other than AV updates so far.

    This was a quick hotfix from MS for one specific reason. Systems were BSODing when using certain printers. No intent of any fax issue.

    Updates an issue that might cause a blue screen when you attempt to print to certain printers using some apps.

    Not surprised there as the BSOD issue introduced with KB5000802 is with Type 3 Printer Drivers. Microsoft own FAX driver version 10.0.19041.508 in use is of Type 3 !

    The real test will be when those that HAVE had BSoD issues in .867 try installing this CU. @Win7ine, @wyldman68 or @redlin49 for example...
    @Bree, resolved my BSOD printing issue already before this hot fix by changing my Kyocera driver from Type 3 to Type 4.

    Finally made it to 19042.868. I had a little bit of an issue installing NVIDIA's latest driver. I don't know which one is the cause, the driver or the Update, but happened to overcome the glitch by installing the driver in Safe Mode.

    Sometimes you just gotta clean out the nvidia dust bunnies that have collected... over time.




    DDU Instructions - Nvidia
    1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
    2. Get the Standard/Game Ready vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA ...save this to your desktop.
    Unhook the internet completely.
    3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
    4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.
    Rehook the internet.
