    OK, this is just crazy!
Additionally, I'm wondering why both One Note and One Note for Windows 10?
I have "One Note 2016" installed, it's part of Office Pro 2019

Are you on Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21354 or the RTM version of Windows 10?

One Note 2016 plus One Note for Win 10 is on RTM but I also have both One Note (part of free online Office 365) and One Note for Windows 10 on IP 21354

Notepad and Paint as well, they turned them into buggy store apps, currently looking for a replacement.
I replaced Notepad with Notepad 2. I used UltraEdit in my IT days, but it's expensive. Notepad 2 is free, uncluttered, and has all the features I need. I prefer it over Notepad++ but YMMV. Anyhow, the install is brilliant because it redirects all attempts to run Notepad.exe to Notepad2.exe. This can actually be done for any executable. Here's the registry entry for the Notepad redirect:

    Code:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\notepad.exe]
    "Debugger"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Notepad2\\Notepad2.exe\" /z"
Here's the link for Notepad 2. Yup, last update was in 2012, but it still works fine: flo's freeware - Notepad2

I still use MSPaint when I need to do simple stuff like crop, resize, rotate, mark up, or convert an image, so I don't have a recommendation for a replacement.

Ah, OK. I almost misread it! I have Microsoft 365 (latest subscription version of Office) on both RTM and IP 21354.

Notepad, Paint and Snipping Tool are all under Windows Accessories on RTM. I use Notepad for text, but could save a Word document as Text. I use Paint for occasionally resizing photos to post here in TF.

They're all up front in the Start Menu on IP 21354 which tells me (rightly or wrongly) that when it's time for them to go, MS coders will have an easier time of eliminating them. Just a wild guess.

BTW, I don't care for the new Windows section of IP 21354 very much. It's ugly!

Thanks, just what I was looking for, it has a smart preset "Single App Instance".
Notepad++ is silly, I lost days of work, because it opens dozens of files at once.

P.S. Any idea for Paint replacement? The store version keeps closing the menu at all times.

Yes, as I said before, you can get the old Paint out of one of your pre-20H1 system images.

Opening multiple files at once is a feature many desire. I'm sure it can be configured not to do that and how would that cause a loss of work?

Open the same file 100 times and make changes, neither get saved by default.

Store version does the same now.
