I know now not to "Restart" until everything is over. I think I have learned my lesson the hard way.

It is always reassuring sometimes to know that some other eclectic users like me are sharing the same

    lesson. . . . .

Finished download & install. Mine also hung at 22%. But everything else went okay. Ran sfc and dism, not problems.

Opened powershell. Checked hotfixes and I got: update KB4601382 and security update KB5000911 listed.

Under settings/view update history/other updates I got: installed KB4601382 listed.

Under Control Panel/view installed updates I got: update KB4601382 and servicing stack update 10.0.19041.841 listed.

    Checked Windows Version: 19042.844 listed.

Update: a few hours after above installs, wu downloaded and installed KB4601554.

god it never ends with these children @ MS this company is as bad or worse than Google, 3 separate CUMS in one month!.
And then.NET update in not caught to next day on some of my machines.
I escaped Insiders because of this and now..

Whatever happened to update Tuesday once a month.

Gosh, I know how you feel. I'm not touching this one or any other previews. Will wait for next update Tuesday.

That is what the Pause button is for. All my systems are paused until just past the next Update Tuesday.

Does that pause AV signature and other security updates too?

    Thanks

"Starting with Windows 10 build 15002, you can temporarily pause updates from being installed for up to 7 days (Insiders) or 35 days (non Insiders). Some updates, like Windows Defender definition updates, will continue to be installed. "

I will have to start making use of this. I keep getting preview updates rammed down my throat (downloaded and installed) just because I checked for updates. Pausing updates will hopefully remind me not to check manually.

I know there are third party apps to help tame some of this ..... maybe I'll eventually succumb to trying one.
