    How to Download

Registered Insiders may navigate directly to the Windows Server Insider Preview download page. If you have not yet registered as an Insider, see GETTING STARTED WITH SERVER on the Windows Insiders for Business portal.

    We value your feedback!

The most important part of a frequent release cycle is to hear what's working and what needs to be improved, so your feedback is extremely valued. For Windows Server, use your registered Windows 10 Insider device and use the Feedback Hub application. In the app, choose the Windows Server category and then the appropriate subcategory for your feedback. In the title of the Feedback, please indicate the build number you are providing feedback on as shown below:
[Server #####] Title of my feedback

See Share Feedback on Windows Server via Feedback Hub for specifics. We also encourage you to visit the Windows Server Insiders space on the Microsoft Tech Communities forum to collaborate, share and learn from experts.

    Diagnostic and Usage Information

Microsoft collects this information over the internet to help keep Windows secure and up to date, troubleshoot problems, and make product improvements. Microsoft server operating systems can be configured to turn diagnostic data off, send Required diagnostic data, or send Optional diagnostic data. During previews, Microsoft asks that you change the default setting to Optional in order to provide the best automatic feedback and help us improve the final product.

Administrators can change the level of information collection through Settings. For details, see http://aka.ms/winserverdata. Also see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

    Terms of Use

This is pre-release software - it is provided for use "as-is" and is not supported in production environments. Users are responsible for installing any updates made available from Windows Update. All pre-release software made available to you via the Windows Server Insider program is governed by the Insider Terms of Use.

    Hi there
sounds interesting -- will have a go with this --and attempt to run it as a VM on my Linux KVM system (ArchLinux). The reason for that rather than Windows itself is that with IOMMU and VFIO built into Linux kernel pass thru is fairly straight forward and running nested / 2nd level VM's on KVM is mega more efficient than attempting to run 2nd level VM's on a standard Consumer grade (e.g W10 Pro) host. I'd like to see if this server will arun some Windows desktops -- not sure though about "Client licenses" --that's another issue though.

    Thanks @Brink for the link

Working - use the virtio disk from fedora to get video resolution correct - Attach to the VM and use the W2k19 driver -- still works on this server.

I selected at install time desktop experience -- No Sound working - (yet) but who really needs sound on a server !!! otherwise everything else is working with fast networking -- use the vio option for network adapters if on KVM.

system is nice and responsive !!! might even try and be really bonkers to "convert to a desktop" "

Anybody else out there going to try / has tried this server on any platform.

I can see I'm going to have fun with this today -- now to install some software and "Clients"

Update - Sound working just fine -- needed to start the service !!! (Sound is ICH9)

    Cheers

    Hi there

Found 2 possible defects with this server.

    1) OpenSSH server won't install (from the optional applications) -- needed for transmitting files (sending files) to other systems.

    2) One other possible problem with the server -- there's no way to install anything from the Microsoft store -- probably not a mega issue for professionals who want to try out the server -- for users at home just wanting to "play with it" and do a bit of education on servers it could be an issue --for example if you use the desktop experience you can't add themes from the Ms store. There is a work around for server w2k19 but not so far for this one --too new.

    Hi there
Not too worried about the store app but without openssh server I can't really use this so I'm saving it and waiting for an update.

Seems quite a big defect on a server since presumably being able to share and transmit files is one of the main uses for a server in the first place !!!!! Openssh client works OK as that'sstandard.

Anybody on Ms's feedback program could they please mention the openssh server problem.

    Cheers

There is ways to install the store on 1809, I expect those will also work on the new LTSC build.

    Hi there

Trying to install optional feature --it fails with "check your Insider program settings" but there's nowhere on the server to do just this !!!
