My third day with Windows 10525. No problem.
In theory, to opt out the Insider from 10525 won't make you return to 10240, I guess, but I haven't tried. Unless you revert it back from 10525 to 10240 which seems you have problems. If you really want to get back to 10240 and whether want to stay slow ring or completely stay out of Insider, you can always reinstall from the 10240 ISO. Just to start fresh from beginning!
Next official release may not be the build 10525 but may be 106xx, 107xx or something different. Who knows?

Well if its a later build then I would be ok. Just needs to come from the RTM side of updates.
Prior to trying out any newer build and wanting to preserve the present installation in case of....? Full system image backup please! As I was saying most simply do not realize the concept of seeing a full system image backup made before tampering with the "Unknown"?! If something goes sideways you simply restore the image to get you back where you had been.
Now as far as the 10525 build I haven't seen any indication after clicking the get preview builds button until just now I finally saw the Blue Screen! Will it be Life or Death of the 10240? Glad I made an image a couple of days agooooo..... "as he restarts the system by clicking the Restart now button" "We need you to restart your PC so you can get Insider builds."
I'm not quite convinced with what you have to do with the image backup when experiments are involved, but no offense! it just an another way. A Dual Booting of another disk or even VM requires something no more than 150gb space (100gb should be plenty enough) with almost cost you nothing. Why not try it? It's simple and easy. When you find everything satisfied, go get it final at last!

I find it funny how important having the ability to choose the focused window color was to so many people, they complained and complained about it. Now, MS gives it to them, and it's "Not enough new features to upgrade". If it was so important that you had to complain and complain about it, i'd think it would be important enough to upgrade for it.
Hi there
I lost connection half way through the download (my fault - not Ms).
How do I get it again -- it showed update 10525 failed but now when I try and check for updates it says Computer is up to date (and it's build 10240) - Will just waiting and retry fix it or is there something I should delete to get the update to re-start or start again from scratch.
(Note - this was not an Ms fault -- accidently disconnected router !!!!).
Of course these are TEST builds - so when I see people complaining "Not enough features to merit upgrade" my impression is that these people shouldn't be using insider builds --that's the WHOLE POINT of insider builds --maybe Ms just wants to test A SINGLE FEATURE -- maybe more -- why not. Again that's the WHOLE POINT of testing. Do it in bits before rolling out a complete update.
Maybe if some Govt I.T projects had taken this route - most would have worked instead of being humungous miserable failures (this seems to be a universal problem with Govt I.T in almost any country you can care to name).
Cheers
