What is the "pipe cleaner" version??
It is the placebo upgrade Microsoft just began to roll out. It is the same as the previous version, they just bumped the version number and released a new update without any changes just so they can test, how quickly they could now spread an update if they wanted to

But I don't see why you guys rush with such placebo upgrades, they are actually meant to see how quickly they get installed naturally. It's not like you miss anything: )

When I change the ESXi6.7 VM to bridged the ipv4 address of the nested Windows 10 VM changes to the IP address used by the NAT connection. Interesting but useless.

Hopefully they clear up the Defender mess.....have no security confidence with it in its present state.
In the meantime have installed Bitdefender free.

If you try to run quick scan in Windows Defender, it takes forever! Not a quick scan. See DENCAL's post #47 about conflicting results.

Ah, thanks for that, magilla. Didn't link that with a mess!

I think, as Dencal pointed out, there is a possibility that the program may not be reliably detecting potential security intrusions.

Seems OK now. 32min, 22788 files, no threats.
