    hello friends,
    Scenary: MSWindows 10 Enterprise 20H2 build 19042.746
I see that the referred CU (by CAB file) was installed without errors, however, in a much longer time than any others I have already installed ... almost 1 hour!
OK, time will not argue .. an i7 4770K with 16GB, SSD 120GB (55GB empty),
I think it's ok for me, so far. Now, I will talk about the strange behavior after installing this CU ...
All, I said all, non-Microsoft applications, are closed (killed from the task list) in about 5 seconds after being loaded !!!That's right, after this CU any application that I load is closed in 5 seconds after its load !!!
    Well, someone could say: it's a virus, that's it, that's it ...
No, it's not! The cause is actually the installation of this CU!
My antivirus is Kaspersky IS 2021 that I've been using for 3 years!
Now, taking the nine test!I uninstalled this CU and everything went back to what it was before ... no more, no less!any ideas or someone with the same "defect"?
I'm running up-to-date KIS and have had no problems with several heavy-weight non-MS apps I tried. I did get my usual trunkfull of ESENT warnings after an update. No problems so far.

This update was practically a service pack, it updated thousands of Windows libraries.
As such, your "Kaspersky" most likely requires a compatibility update because a lot of functions have moved, changed, updated, (possibly even removed)
I think that not, the problem was the system not my Kaspersky, else, until MS applications would be closed too!
Anyway, later un-install this CU - all it's all right as before! None solfware was modified or updated!

I dont see my Events with frequence, because really does not matter in my case.
What would be this "ESENT" warnings at all?

The key was that you made the backup first . No regrets if you have a full backup that you are able to recover from. I just don't want to waste the time on all that, personally.

Since you said it installed fine, that's great.

Did you also try dism with /checkhealth after sfc?
Ooops... i forgot about that at the time. I've run DISM/checkhealth now and everything is fine.

    Thanks for reminding me

issue is YOUR system which Kaspersky is a component of.

    problem doesn't occur elsewhere.

    @Brink

    I restored from a backup (removing KB4598291).

I use CCleaner, it works well for me. Anyway, after installing KB4598291, I get an unremovable registry entry, popping up in a CCleaner Registry scan.

    KB4598291 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.789 and v20H2 19042.789-image1.png

    I have no idea what/where LocalServer32 is.
Just starting at C:\Windows... I don't have that exe. file shown in the pic.

Also... I have all notifications disabled.

Since I installed Win 10 in May 2020... I've never had anything pop up in a CCleaner Registry scan that couldn't be removed.
Well, it removes it, but it's right back again in the next scan.

Without KB4598291, I don't have that Class ID in the CCleaner pic... anywhere in the registry (with or w/o the brackets).

    @Ghot

Looks like it's for SpeechRuntime.exe possibly for "Hey Cortana".

Yeah... weird. I have Cortana uber disabled. Cortana may be completely uninstalled.

As long as the KB file is not in the Microsoft Update Catalog, it is not official to me. I'm waiting for it to be there first. There may be changes before the final update file is ready. There are several examples of this in the past.

I'm firmly in the 'wait for something more official' camp. 19042.782 is strictly Beta or Release preview at present. I'm not looking to get a repeat of the now infamous 19042.661 update that left people stuck at that build. It could neither be uninstalled or updated to a higher version, leaving the only options a restore of a previous system image or an in-place repair install.

Interesting to note that .661 has now been erased from history on the flight hub. Apparently even MS don't want to be reminded of that debacle...

Just installed this cab file on my second machine without any problems. Looks like the ESENT errors are no longer there and about time too. Ran sfc and dism with nothing to report so ,if this KB works ok after some testing then I'll try it on my main PC.
If it fails then MR to the rescue .
