That apparent stall is normal, both of them. It really is doing quite a bit of I/O and CPU when it appears "stuck". Next time, have your Taskmanager running also in the Processes Tab. You'll be able to see all the activity. Split-screen Taskmanager and the Update with Windows Key and <> keys.
I just got finished reading all the "what this does" list, and saw this...
We fixed an issue that incorrectly logs Extensible Storage Engine Technology (ESENT) event 642 in the Application Event Log.
Well, I just made a backup and did the .782...
Next, I'll clear my Event Viewer and reboot and see about the ESENT error.
Well... I don't see the ESENT 642 warning, but I'll keep checking for a while since I don't remember what tosses that error anyhow.
Note: Disk Cleanup still doesn't offer to cleanup after Windows Updates anymore, but running...
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup ...from an elevated command prompt...
...seems to work just fine.
