    yes,

Unlike defragging that is more focused on writing, CHKDSK does more reading than writing to the drive. To be specific, when running, CHKDSK will read the drive data to confirm if everything is fine. ... Therefore, running CHKDSK doesn't do harm to your SSD. So you needn't worry after you accidentally run CHKDSK on SSD.Mar 6, 2018

Yes, no harm in that or reason why not.

Modify the Security Descriptors on the Winsxs Folder

If the error message still pops up, it suggests that the problem has nothing to do with the disk errors. Then continue to check another possibility - the SFC utility cannot access the Winsxs folder (C:\Windows\winsxs) because of some issues with the folder's security descriptors.
Step 1: Open the command prompt by following the above steps.
Step 2: In the Command Prompt window, Type ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs and press "Enter".
Step 3: Wait until the command is executed, then close the Command Prompt.
Step 4: Restart your computer and run SFC again to check if the problem has been fixed.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I have already tried these suggestions and others in the past with no success.
I again tried these two and still no luck.
I even tried offline sfc repair suggestions using the command prompt but got the reply
"Windows resource protection could not start the repair service"...
Oh well I guess I can just go into safe mode to run sfc if I need to...

Why not try a repair Install and see what gives:
