Finally this build is now installing on my physical dual boot host. However, I really splurged on a $3k notebook (Euluktronic's MAX-17 with an Intel processor (still really don't care for it but a few months ago could not find a comparable AMD notebook with 64GB of RAM and a 4TB Nvieme SSD disk drive and other goodies just beginning to explore). I might even use it for gaming which would be a change for me.

    Tried 3 times.
Because I'm not in one of that countries, think that is mainly location related as is stated in first post.
Here neither but News APP and Edge are full of adds for this locale.

    Why Rufus at all ?
    Hi there

some people still use it !!!! (No accounting for taste)

Some BIOSES sometimes have problems with "Hybrid Boot" systems - and only newer machines can boot from NTFS formatted devices.

I've found over the years that the DD method is the most flexible and reliable -- for people who don't want to boot a Linux distro or use a Linux VM you can use the WSL on Windows - the DD command works just OK on that too.

As for news etc -- there's only 3 bits of News on most news channels these days wherever you are --COVID-19 , shenanigens going on in Hong Kong and the antics of (soon to be ex-) president Trump so I'm quite happy if those live tiles don't work !!!! sometimes its great to use a Computer and get away from that stuff !!!!!

    Cheers

    Hello mate,

Yeah, it's not available for your region yet. Hopefully, soon.

I downloaded ISO using FF but it mounted only when forced Open with Windows Explorer. Would not mount on double click.
I tried to mount using the context menu (right click)--"mount" is the first option on an .iso. No go. Just weird. Three separate physical drives, three separate downloads--no go. First attempt with Edge--and it right-click mounts fine.

But...as I mentioned...it was a waste of time...build simply will not install. Just like the rest released after 20270.1.

Have you tried disabling any programs running in the background? Especially any 3rd party security programs if you have any installed.

Thanks for the suggestion. Disabled all of them, don't use 3rd-party security--I also removed all device drivers so those wouldn't get in the way, switched from the RealTek Lan to the Intel Lan controller, removed my thumb drive, disconnected all USB devices except for mouse/kbrd, did sfc & dism cleanups--and more! Didn't change a thing...build gsod'ed at 48%, no matter what--same error message in every failed build.

Problem is that nothing I had installed was a barrier to build installation all year long... Nothing changed in my system--what's changed since 20270.1 is something in these builds that is simply incompatible with something in my hardware, even after eliminating device drivers. "The bug is in the beta build," as they say... I really thought I had seen the last of this kind of problem a good while ago...

News and interest feature not available to me. Have the Edge Chromium-based browser installed but it's the Canary build and perhaps that won't do it.
