    I have one of each now, and had to split my pool of 2 Dev Channel test PCs accordingly. Sigh.

    So if one wanted they could upgrade from 20277.fe to 21277.RS and get back to the prerelease builds without doing a clean install?

    You have 10 days (without backup). It's in the first post. And if you don't cleanup windows.old, of course

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Once an Insider chooses to install a RS_PRERELEASE build, they cannot move back to receiving FE_RELEASE builds as their device will be on a higher build number. Insiders will still have the option to roll back to a previous version for up to 10 days or until you take another build.

    I took the plunge and upgraded my desktop to from 20277.1 to 21277. It finished less then a 1/2 hour ago. The update went without any problems. I'll update my laptop to 20277.1 I figured if anything went wrong I have my Macrium images to get my desktop up and running again.

    I thought that would be the way this build would work. Unless I run into any problems I think I'll keep my desktop on this build.

    Hi folks

    You can ALWAYS revert back if you took an image backup of your existing build before doing the update.

    If you want to change to an earlier (downgrade) build as well another method if you don't have a backup (why not !!!!) simply get the iso from UUPDUMP and install -- this way though you'll probably have to do a "Clean install".

    Macrium Free and all sorts of backup programs are available FREE so I can't understand why people just don't do that simple thing of taking a backup before making any changes -- especially big ones on their systems.

    Cheers

    I like to compare it as being the same as:

    fe = Fast ring

    RS = Skip Ahead
