    Am I the only one who's seeing installation failure error 0x80070003?
    Everyone else's errors seem to be different!

    Yes. I see two errors : 0x800f081f (via Windows Update) and 0x8024200B (via Standalone package). EDIT : Finally i solved the problem with repair install !

    Thanks both.
    I had already tried the Windows Update Troubleshooter, but that finds nothing wrong.
    My issue with doing the WU reset is that it will lose all my update history, but I guess I can try saving the DataStore.edb file where IIRC the history is saved, so I can restore it after the reset, especially if it doesn't work!
    I just have a feeling that this isn't actually a Windows Update problem, as installing from a cab file also fails.
    Does that method still use the Windows Update mechanism?

    Ok did the Repair install I'm off .661 and on 20H2 .685, since we can't uninstall 20H2 I'm stuck with it

    Windows Update history is insignificant if you can get your PC working/updated - so I've come to realize anyway after having to do in-place upgrades, etc and losing my update history.
