I have a huge number of processes (I lost count after 60) that run as System user & this update says that some might not run if I update. I don't know how to, or if I should, change from system user to my username. Will this update prevent many of my apps from working?

    I'm afraid to update.
Where did you see that? The part in Bold?

Is it this that has you concerned?

Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to "FILE:" ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account.

If so, please do not be. This is directed at developers for the most part, and is a rare circumstance to begin with. It's a Security update and cannot be avoided in the update. You're not going to crash. The System processes will keep running.

This error code seems to have something to do with .Net Framework 3.5 since the inception of Windows 8.0 and 8.1. Read on...

don't worry about the link above (403 forbidden); it works. The reason is probably because the web page wanted me to unblocks (whitelist) via the ad blockers.

Is the same if you install the MSU instead of via Windows Update?

Maybe it is not working as it should. I would make a system image backup first and try the steps in the referenced links above either from Brink's one or mine.

IronZorg89 thanks for the tip. Your advise did the trick for me. It did force me to move from version 2004 to version 20H2 though.

I had that error. See my post 157. I recovered from a previous backup then updated. Else you can do a repair install.

If you are on .661 you need to go back to an earlier version either from a backup or via a repair install.Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
