Likewise there's nothing in 20H2 that I give a shit about if we want to get to that level.

But... but... what about the cool new background color, or lack of, on the Start Menu tiles?

    @pharb,
The plot thickens. Run "get-hotfix" from admin PS. I see
    Code:
    Description HotFixID
    ----------- --------
    Update KB4586876
Do you? I don't see that KB in Windows Update history via Windows Settings.

We should probably continue this discussion in KB4586876 Cumulative Update .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 Windows 10 Nov. 30

When I tried the link for KB4598242, it took me to this page:
    Attachment 314382
I don't know what link you are referring to. At the bottom of the TenForums page for KB4598242, there is a direct download link {there always is}.
    - Your diagrams indicate that you went to the MSUpdateCatalog.
    - So perhaps you went to the TenForums page for KB4598242, clicked on its link for the MS article on KB4598242 then clicked on its link for the MSUpdateCatalog KB4598242 entries.

What method did you use for the SSU? That should be done before the CU, as explained in the TenForums page for KB4598242.

I have never had that particular problem in the update catalog.
    - The fact that you are not getting your browser's normal context menu when you right-click makes me think it was a browser problem rather than an MSUpdateCatolog problem.
    - Or perhaps that diagram is your browser's normal context menu for a hyperlink - I only know IE & Firefox.
    - Perhaps it was just a warning designed to annoy you and there was also an option to proceed?
    - Or perhaps you have an antimalware application that interrupts you with such messages???

Thank you, Denis. I think it might have been the browser (Chrome). I tried the link several times from link you provided. It didn't seem to work for me at once...but I might have been to impatient. When I tried to exit Chrome, it said "download in progress", so I waited. This time I got the MSU file.

Not sure whether I should install or not, since @steve108 said above that he has the same .NET Framework versions as I do.

KB4598242 is a Windows 10 Cumulative update. It has got nothing to do with .Net framework.

Sorry. I keep getting mixed up on the numbers. I already installed KB4598242. It was KB4586876 that I hadn't installed & had problems with.

I agree with Steve's suggestion earlier. Copy all the relevant KB4586876 info from your posts here to KB4586876 Net - TenForums and discuss it there. Otherwise your wisdom will not be found by others who might have problems with this update in the future.

Steve - The most comprehensive list of updates is always that in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, View installed updates. The others suffer from Windows weeding processes - in Settings, Updates it only shows those updates it is capable of removing.

I installed KB4586876 on three computers in early December and did not find any problems.

I have just summarized what I wrote to KB4586876 Cumulative Update .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 Windows 10 Nov. 30

but I'm beginning to think it's a problem with Chrome.
