Not sure if I understand that correctly, but being on internet doesn't mean that MS can steal your bandwidth. Especially, when you have a metered connection and are paying steeply for it. Also, being on internet and your privacy being compromised are two different things. It needn't have to be that way.

Give it at least six months before we can conclude anything from the trend. I suspect Windows 10 will be at least as popular as Windows 7. Microsoft has the knack of releasing a popular OS every other version, and since Windows 8 was a dud, Windows 10 should be a winner.
yep i am sticking with Windows 8 on my laptop.. untill bugs are fixed

    1) Shares your personal information with Microsoft by default

By default, Windows 10 shares a lot of information about you with Microsoft. According to the company's privacy policy, Windows sends Microsoft everything you say to Cortana, Windows 10's Siri-like virtual assistant. It also collects your name and nickname, your recent calendar events, the names of the people in your appointments, and information about your contacts -- including their names and nicknames.
The good news: If you don't want to share that information, you can disable it.
The bad news: Microsoft has an incredible 13 separate privacy screens that you'll have to navigate through to shut off all information sharing.

People, please quit whining about privacy settings on Windows 10, YOU CAN disable that, just take the time during setup of after it to change all the settings to off... simple.
Telemetry can be disabled if that concerns you a lot, and no, you don't need a bunch of batch files and scripts, if you are good enough, you can navigate through Task Manager and disable Customer Experience and Aplication Experience related stuff, that disables telemetry.

Because a lot of people started this paranoid trend, even myself believed in this for a second (and posted stupid stuff), stop spreading this paranoia, this is just like Google privacy settings, just disable al history logging and you will be OK...

About the "using your internet" thing... just turn that off, is just MS trying to speed up things by using you as a P2P (which can be abusive if you ask me).

If someone came over at night and was peeping in my window I would be mad at them. It would not make me feel better for them to tell me that they would have stopped doing it had I asked them to. There is a pretty fair industry built around eliminating spyware. Now it's suddenly alright if Microsoft does it?

Seems like some people like a good conspiracy theory. The more outlandish, the firmer they believe in it.

I heard that Microsoft faked its landing on the moon.

They also are Reptilians in disguise, that collect data so they learn about human behaviour, and probably try some mating rituals.
But... shhhh... I shouldn't be telling this, they are spying my copy of W10...

    LOL... I guess it does.
But seriously, nothing to worry about, what they collect is just data to make services like Cortana more efficent, and if you don't want it, you can always disable data collect and telemetry.

Many people freaked out because W10 magically resets stuff... I can confirm by my own that disabling telemetry, Windows update or defender (the service, not real time protection only) or geolocalization service results in... nothing, nothing happens, just like W7 did, they remain deactivated. So all those "horror" stories about W10 still sending data even if disabling services or that autohealing thing and such is just rubbish. Maybe they missed the task scheduler entries, specially in Wndows -> Windows Update, both of those sih or sihboot "autohealing" tasks... I just disabled those, and probably those were the reason behing auto healing (restoring disabled items)...

Personally, I feel relieved. I can control updates the way I want, just nice.

I understand that windows want to better the user experience and they are collecting Information for Cortana and all. But I have Experience in Speeding up of my System after turning off everything in Settings > Privacy.

Now my system with 4gb RAM works and Boots much better.
