Windows 9 Preview Could Leak After September 15 – Rumor

    Posted: 23 Aug 2014

Information that reached the web this week has revealed that Microsoft is planning a press event in late September to introduce the new Windows 9 Preview and thus break the news on a project that’s eagerly-awaited by all company enthusiasts.

Even though Redmond is very likely to reveal the very first details about Windows 9 on September 30, it’s not yet clear whether the Preview is going to be released for download during the same day or soon after that, as work continues on this build at a very fast pace.

But it turns out that we might actually be able to get our hands on Windows 9 Preview sooner than expected, as a leaked build could reach the web in mid-September.

This information comes from none other than WZor, a famous Russian Windows leaker who has a really good track on providing us with early builds of new versions of Windows, but of course nobody can guarantee that this is actually going to happen.

Well, considering that the "event build" is not a manufacturer build... if things go like in the past it's quite probable that we''ll be soon playing with a pre-preview build ! I confess that I'm anxious to closely see what has been made for the new Windows !

Even if a leaked build starts circulating the web early, I will wait a few weeks longer for the official release from MS. I just don't like taking the chance of downloading a "nasty" surprise with the leaked software.

I totally agree. Anything from alternate sources is risky. I was burned one time from a site that supplied a "version" of Win7 that was rather bogus at best.

    But as usual, YMMV.

Another reason I have for being patient, is that I am limited to 5 Gbs of data per month and since all these newer OSs are huge files, I end up having to buy extra data just to try them out.

Now that stinks and I see your reasoning. I have no limit plan with Comcast in TN and my download speed is the "burst" plan. 50Mps or higher. The other day I clocked about 56Mps.. yes it's not relevant due to the servers between and how they respond but it looks cool. :)

Right now I am on my 2nd year of a two year contract with Verizon Wireless, but once that is up, there are some new ISP options in my area, which have just become available this year. So maybe I won't have to deal with limited data in the future.

I'm going to wait for the official preview release before I download it. The only thing I'm not sure of is how I'm going to install it. If I install it on my desktop I'll dual boot. If I install on a laptop I'll remove the Windows 8.1 drive and do a clean install on an old drive.

No dual booting on same disk for me, had heck of a time with Win8, Alpha and beta, screwed up my W7 big time.
