WU just showed a download of KB4023057 available for download.
It downloaded and installed without any problems. It was very fast I might add, and no restart required.
What was odd is that this same KB has installed on 2-19-2021, 5-11-2021, 7-6-2021, 8-10-2021 and again just now.
Hello @Matthew Wai,
That is neat [ I setup a Batch Script to run from myCustomised Toolbar
].
For anybody wanting to use Matthews Command, you can copy the below [ I also added the CMD Prompt Command ] . . .
PowerShell
Code:(New-Object -com "Microsoft.Update.Session").CreateUpdateSearcher().Search("IsInstalled=0 and IsHidden=0").Updates | FT -Property Title
CMD Prompt
Code:PowerShell (New-Object -com "Microsoft.Update.Session").CreateUpdateSearcher().Search('"IsInstalled=0 and IsHidden=0"').Updates ^| FT -Property Title
I hope this helps.

You can use VBScript to run the command in the background. A message box will pop up only when an update is found.
Heuwly Mother of Baby Jesus, that took a long time?! I checked my Windows Update and there it was. Finally! Very VERY quick update!
Oh well. It's FINALLY installed after long waiting on this update.
Hello @Matthew Wai,
That is a good idea. Perhaps you can post the code so there is a selection for the users.
Do ANY of these above [ PS1, BAT, VBS if you post it ] affect yourCMD Script & VBScript to Control WU
?
@Paul Black, the code has been used in "Check_for_updates.vbs" in the "Matthew's preference" ZIP file. One may simply select option (3) after running "#_Control_Windows_Update.vbs".
