I have been using a German Webmail System for some years , as a backup to my main accounts - GMX.com. This has proved very reliable and they have an auto Mail collector that may allow you to circumvent the Yahoo changes, rather than have Yahoo forward the mail you get GMX to collect it for you ... Gmail also has this feature if you use google products
I remember when Google bought Gmail, a lot of users switched to using GMX.

Yahoo has gone from being a decent system to a hideous ad driven site -- I used to use its excellent built in tools to generate all sorts of Stock market reports --it had a very good free financial API.

Since its takeover I don't bother with it at all -- another one of those sites that surely deserve to just die away.

If you want any sort of reliable Mail system with auto forwarding or whatever --just sign up to any domain hosting service -- some are incredibly cheap if you don't use them for a lot of e-commerce etc and all have at least 2 free mail boxes and auto forwarding.

That way you can get an email address with your unique name and domain which works anywhere you can connect to the internet and supports any email client you can think of -- much better than any slowish webmail (usually these are riddled with ads as well) service and no probs setting up outlook 2019/365 or whatever email client you want.

Most ISP's these days in any case usually prohibit the sending of emails through their servers when you logon to another internet service say in an Internet cafe or whatever even if receive mail works. They usually provide again some hideous slowish webmail (often ad riddled) service for use in those situations.

I have yet to see a decent GUI of any webmail service -- for me those things like OUTLOOK / THUNDERBIRD or even KMAIL (Linux KDE mail) are just fine.

Some are also FREE but there might be a limit on number of emails or domain name might be restricted too. For a few USD / EUR etc just go for a hosting domain service and have done with it even if you only use it for email.

    Cheers

I use GMX and Gmail, without any issues at all All mail from "new" addresses goes initially to GMX, (via their excellent Spam/Malware filters), and is then automatically picked up by Gmail and processed through it's own Spam/Malware filters.

When I access my mail through gmail, on my systems, (fixed or Mobil Devices), everything is checked by Bitdefender (Pro) so is "clean".

Not going to dwell on it but I see no Advertising whatsoever , apart from the inevitable promotional content inside the Mail itself, which I just totally ignore, unless it is actually interesting to me - Yes advertising can be useful. I have on occasion been led to purchase software or hardware, which I have initially seen as "Spam" in an email, of course I did full diligence on the item before purchase

GMX / GMAIL are also fine for those that want to use those.

I think the initial OP's problem was with yahoo though - and that is / has definitely gone.

There's all sorts of sensible answers -- that's what's great about this Forum - many times I've seen loads of good alternative answers to problems -- !!!! Knowledge is always useful !!! -- even today in some futuristic science fiction films with loads of technology sometimes people are rescued via the simple expedient of Morse Code !!!!!!!!

At one time if you wanted an account with Flickr, (the photo sharing site), you had to have a Yahoo account, so I did have one - but only ever used it once to sign up for Flickr and never checked the account for mail- It Was infamous at times for the amount of spam generally, and the "adult nature" of a lot of the spam (allegedly)

is there a free alternative to the forwarding yahoo mail problem? cause I haven't been able to find one yet, [I mean I just set up the g-mail import account thing, but that apparently only does it for 30 days, so if it works id have to re-do it ever 30 days, and also a quick google on extending that I found a answers forum from 10 years ago saying it didn't actually forward for most yahoo mail users....] so I turn to you, because this forum has never disappointed me once! Thank you in advance!
