It's there on my desktops and a laptop. They are all logged in via my MS account. Doesn't bother me since others rarely see the settings pages. Those who do won't learn any big secrets since they already know me and my email address.

It's all over the place here. I've 4 computers - 1 running Win 10 Home 1909, 2 running Win 10 Home 20H2 and 1 running Win 10 Pro 20H2. All fully patched to their version, all logged in with the same MS account as an administrator.

    - On the 1909 machine it's there currently, and shows two two green ticks under the Onedrive and WU icons.
    - On one Win 10 Home 20H2 it was showing, initially with green ticks, then with just the icons with no ticks, and then today the banner has been consistently GONE. (Which is good - don't want it)
    - On the other Win 10 Home 20H2 it shows a blue circle under Onedrive and a plain icon for WU. Before the blue circle there was an incarnation of it with a yellow exclamation mark on the Onedrive icon because I don't back up my system folders to Onedrive. Really glad that's gone because yellow exclamation marks when nothing is wrong just annoys me.
    - On the Win 10 Pro 20H2 It's there, but with just icons for WU and Onedrive, and no ticks or coloured circles.

It's been coming and going on all 4 machines since it rolled out. No rhyme or reason to it either. Really bizarre. I reckon MS is trying to keep everyone guessing.

Tell me about it!? Those YELLING Yellow exclaimations!

Pretty obvious what Microsoft was up to - they THOUGHT something was wrong of course - we weren't using their Cloud for Backup. Originally I added an empty Documents folder to OneDrive just to shut it up.

Now, with these new icons, it's at least not so bad.

By the way, that 'blue' dot is actually whatever your accent color is apparently, and I agree a much more polite way of asking for our attention.

Well the Pro rig has the same accent colours as the one with the blue circle, the Pro rig has no ticks or circles, just plain icons. And the home machine that today is now completely banner-less had the same two plain icons before it vanished. Basically it's all over the show.

The rig with the blue circle is one perhaps with a different OneDrive account than those with blank icons? One that has no Backups folders.

Here's what mine look like now. Tomorrow who knows?

    With Backup folder.

No farvatten, they are all the same Onedrive account as well same MS acount logged into each computer. But like I said, it's been changing up on all four. Also I don't back up system folders on any of the machines, it's just one that seems to be protesting about this (the blue circle where there was previously a yellow "!"

Tomorrow I might have something different again. :)

Depending on how far you want to investigate this, it's possible to have different machines all using the same OneDrive Account but have different backup selections.

If you were curious, and with OneDrive running, you could click the icon with the circle and you should see 3 Blue Check Marks, meaning it's offering to back up all three folders the moment you press the 'Start backup' button.

On the machine without the circle clicking on it should show at least one of the folders WITHOUT the Blue Check Mark meaning it's currently backing up that folder. Folders not being backed up will have the Blue Check Mark.

Having the Settings Banner OneDrive Icon with neither the Blue Dot or the Yellow '!' means one or more of these 3 folders is currently being backup. I would be surprised is this were not the case.

The header was showing on most of my machines yesterday, whether running 1909, 2004 or 20H2.

After the latest check for updates (automatic or manual) it has disappeared from all of them now, whether or not any updates were found.
