I don't know if the user already put files onto his/her computer, and it's a very handy tool instead of just erasing everything. Also, what if the installation media is missing important files, or is somehow corrupt? Repair upgrade would get the files from the newly downloaded installation media and windows update.
i put off getting 2004 due to some bad word of mouth, i've just been offered 20H2 ~ should i stick it on or hang on for a bit? haven't had time to do a full trawl but i'm seeing some issues and problems on this and other forums. i hear it's about 3.5gig for those of us still on 1909 so i was going to get the ISO via the media creation tool and do the upgrade that way.
TIA
I wanted to post this here because there are a lot of posts here about the broken Startup Tab on Task Manager.
Today, Insider Build 20251.1 was released in the Dev channel (old Fast Ring). There was a fix to this problem I thought you all would like to see if you are not Insiders. It may take a short forever for it to get to RTM, but the fix is there and working. I posted the Insider piece and had others verify. It goes on for several posts, with pics and all.
Cheers!
Windows 10 Insider Preview Dev Build 20251.1 (fe_release) - Nov. 4
UPDATE 11/6:
New known issues added for Windows 10 version 20H2. See first post for more details.

Just a note, this is the MCT file that is now being used to create my Bootable USB drive:
MediaCreationTool20H2.exe
Just finished Upgrading to Version 2009/20H2 on a Desktop, few Notebooks yet to go.
20H2 runs fine on my desktop, but it breaks Windows Update on my laptop. I thought it would fix itself, but after numerous restarts over several hours it continued to tell me to "please wait."
I tried stopping the wuauserv process and clearing the SoftwareDistribution folder, but it didn't help. Fortunately, uninstalling the 20H2 enablement package fixed the issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
