Hi there, anyone having issues with hybrid sleep recently? I just get kernel=power 41 to often now: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

It behaves as follows: I press sleep option on my desktop, it seems like going to sleep (I believe you know this click sound) and then nothing (should be second click before the light starts blinking). HDD activity led is live as well as cpu fans etc. The only way is hard reset. It doesn't happen every time (I can go to sleep ok once and then it fails for the 2nd or 3rd attempt)

Very frustrating for me, would appreciate any advise.

Yes, I have experienced this problem on an Asus K53 laptop, but it was after clean installing to v2004 from v1909. Trying to go into sleep and the screen just goes black and it is stuck there, still on, untill you press the power button to hard reset.

I tried a number of different fixes, none worked. The laptop is out of my hands now and across the country so it's been a while since anything new has been tried (the owner is reluctant to do advanced diagnostic procedures by herself).
But I'm now thinking that this problem is caused by the video driver (incompatibility of the).

When I did the clean install to v2004, Windows installed it's own drivers for the Intel processor graphics and the dedicated nVidia graphics. I then downloaded and installed a newer nVidia driver. Unfortunately I don't know if this problem was happening under the MS driver or started after the nVidia driver upgrade.

My test is going to be to 1) disable the nVidia graphics and check to see if Sleep functions using just the Intel graphics, and 2) completely removing all nVidia drivers (using DDU- Display Driver Uninstaller) and then letting Windows install it's driver to see if that works.

I did (i think) all of the tests and tweaks in Power Options, Uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics devices (both), Tried key combinations to activate Sleep, and some others that I didn't note (working under the gun and very annoyed).

You might try the above method to see if it works for you. That will help me too!

My recall is bad. This problem was happening on the generic Windows Driver, based on what I posted in my thread on this problem:

Ok, thanks for replies:) I have spent some bad time with that and this is my conclusion for today:

Will update after some testing. Would be quite disappointed if that's Asus software again, especially bearing in mind that this feature looks quite interesting (at least for me)
